EarlyAct is a school-wide service club for elementary students from ages 5 to 13. It is sponsored by one of the local Rotary clubs in the township in which the school is located. The mission and operation of EarlyAct are closely linked to the ideals of Rotary and provide the foundation and natural succession into Interact.

EarlyAct provides young students the opportunity for gaining an increased awareness and knowledge of their community and the world. At a young age, all students can easily be encouraged to be caring and helpful. Their minds are open to recognize the dignity and worth of each individual which builds respect for others.

EarlyAct also engages students in character-building activities and prepares them for leadership roles to identify and carry out projects which benefit
their school, local and global communities.

In the fall of 2016, our EarlyAct Club at Central Park learned about how ShelterBoxes are used by families in disaster places - locations that have been affected by war, floods, famine, or other natural disasters, like fires, hurricanes, and earthquakes. Our Grade 3 students involved in the club wanted to do more, and take some action at home to help a global issues, of families needing help.We connected with LP Miller and Wagner Schools, who also came on board. Our students’ fundraising efforts through the year brought in over $1200, enough to pay for a ShelterBox for a family. The ShelterBox program is done through Rotary International. The Rotary Club of Nipawin sponsors our EarlyAct Club, and they have offered to match our funds raised, for a second ShelterBox. The schools met with the Rotary Club of Nipawin on June 22, 2017 to present the donation from our North East School Division Nipawin schools for a Shelterbox. Our district is very proud of the program and the early involvement in Rotary and the community it facilitates.
