On January 7, 2008 Ron Noseworthy, Rotary Club of Kenora, traveled to Bangladesh for his first deployment as a member of ShelterBox Response Team which included three members from the UK.

The devastation from the recent cyclone and storm surge has been immense.  560,000 homes were destroyed, 900,000 homes damaged, close to 4,000 people killed and 8.9 million people were displaced. This, combined with the fact that Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world, has created a situation of enormous need.  ShelterBox has already sent in excess of 1,000 boxes and we will be responsible for distributing another 200 boxes.

The continued support and encouragement to the clubs of District 5550 to support ShelterBox is very much appreciated.  The need is endless.
