"Show and tell' is definitely more effective than just setting up a table with brochures" according to Brian Cocks of the Melfort Rotary Club.

R.C. of Melfort displayed a ShelterBox and its contents (with tent set up) at the Melfort Mall from Nov. 15th to Dec. 7th. Rotarians, spouses and friends of Rotary were 'open for business' during all Mall hours .. six days a week ... including Black Friday !!

The Club also had the support of radio CJVR - CK750 for an entire day. They set up broadcasting 'on site' and giving away Grey Cup tickets to help draw attention to ShelterBox.

Melfort has fairly recently become home for quite a few Filipino immigrant families. They recognize and are very appreciative of the community's support.

Rotarians are still collecting donations by phone. Several businesses are matching their employees' contributions and having the Canadian Government extend its matching funds program is a real incentive for many people.

To date donations totaling $ 31,000.00 have been realized and sent to ShelterBox Canada.
