YOUTH PROTECTION

Rotary District 5550 adopted the 2020 RI Statement of Conduct for Working with Youth:

Rotary International strives to create and maintain a safe environment for all youth
who participate in Rotary activities. To the best of their ability, Rotary members, their
partners, and other volunteers must safeguard the children and young people with
whom they come into contact and protect them from physical, sexual, and
psychological abuse.

This will be posted on the District Website under Youth and please include it on your websites. This will now bring about a review of the 2018 Harassment Policy in the next few months but for the meantime please follow current guidelines (attached fyi).

If interested in helping with this please let me know. The current Harassment Policy will remain in place for all summer of 2023 events so you do not have to make any changes at the last minute as I know you are busy planning summer 2023 Events.

Please remember these recommendations apply to the ROTEX Members involved closely with the Youth in your Program and that most of the Rotext Members are not members of Rotary Clubs and will need to have these checks specifically for your program.

I have also attached the Current Youth Protection Guidelines from RI for your review in case you have not yet done this .
One Gift We All Can Give This Coming Year is Our Time and Skill to Help Those Less Fortunate Than Ourselves
