In 2004 the Rotary International (RI) Board adopted sexual abuse and harassment prevention guidelines designed to protect youth participating in Rotary club and district programs. The RI Board also agreed to develop and implement a club and district certification program for the Rotary Youth Exchange program by June 30, 2006.

Rotary District 5550 has developed a policy against abuse and harassment, which includes reporting guidelines. Click on the link on the left to download a copy. The District Harassment Policy can also be found in the District Manual of Policy and Procedures. The District Policy applies only to District-sponsored events or activities such as the International Student Exchange program.

The District Policy can also assist clubs in preparing their own policies in connection with club-sponsored events and activities. For more information, please click on the appropriate links to the left.

The District Harassment Officer is Grant Paulson, who should be contacted if a potential or actual abuse or harassment issue arises in connection with a district program or activity. Grant can also assist you with any specific questions or concerns regarding the policy, guidelines and recommendations. Grant's contact information is set out below.
