Former Exchange Student Attends Future of Africa Conference

Lesego Sekano, a former Rotary exchange student to District 5550, attended a Forum on the Future of Africa with Young African Leaders that was hosted by President Obama in Washington from August 3-5, 2010.
Lesego was one of approximately 120 young leaders representing more than forty countries in sub-Saharan Africa who were invited to participate in the President’s Forum to discuss their vision for transforming their societies over the next 50 years.
In 2001 Lesego Sekano was a rotary exchange student from South Africa when she was hosted by the Rotary Club of Winnipeg Charleswood.
In sharing this news PDG Nancy Morris said she was a bright and vibrant student who has gone on to the wonderful heights we expected.
Lesego also represented South Africa at a forum, which was held in conjunction with the G20 meetings in Toronto in June 2010.
